Life is good...

Hello, all! I'm feeling much better now and Will has been doing great! If anyone is bored (and in town), feel free to stop by CMC - Pineville Maternity Center (or our house after Sunday)...visiting hours at the hospital are from 12-8:30 (except for hospital "nap time" from ~1:30-4.) We're definitely here until tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon...they're still deciding whether we're we'll go home Sunday afternoon or later in the week. Feel free to give us a call and find out where we are :-) 704-756-9362 (Andy's number - it's on vibrate so if we don't answer leave a message and we'll call back soon)

Love to you all!
Stacy (for The Eskews)

My visitors

Here are some of my visitors.

I'll add more pictures as time permits. Life on the outside is busy.

Will.i.am

Hello! My name is William Alexander Eskew. Everyone can call me Will. I am the newest member of the Eskew family. I am currently hanging out at the CMC-Pineville Hospital. If you would like to visit me, visitation times are from 12 to 8:30 with a quiet time from 1 to 4. Please call my parents Andy and Stacy if you would like to meet me. They are doing all my scheduling for now.

P.S. My parents and I are all feeling very well. We are spending quality time getting to know each other. Hopefully I will get to meet my brothers, Lincoln and Ike, this weekend.

Hello World!

After a long day of laboring, Baby Eskew (sorry no name yet) was born at 11:34pm on 11/26/2008 by "C" Section. He (yes it is a boy!) weighed 8lbs 12oz. and was 20 inches long. He has dark brown hair, short on the sides and front and an inch long in the back.

Mom and Baby are now doing fine. Due to the long labor and efforts of the "C" section. We ask that we have no visitors (except family) on Thursday. We will see on Friday how things are going for more visitors. But on Thanksgiving be thankful that Baby Eskew has entered the world.

Here are some pictures of baby and parents.

We're at the hospital...

We made it to the hospital at 6:15 this morning and things are getting under way. The baby's heart rate is around 140 beats per minute. More updates as the day progresses.

UPDATE: Stacy is 7-8 cm at 6:30pm. Things are progressing slowly but we should have a baby on the outside tonight. A bit of baby info... the baby has some hair. Not sure how much or what color, but more than peach fuzz.

Still waiting...

Well, it seems that the hospital was too busy today (and tomorrow) to do any inductions so we've been rescheduled for Wednesday morning - bright and early at 6:15.

I guess there's still the "old-fashioned" spontaneous labor...

No Room in the Inn

So just as I was getting out of bed this morning to head to the hospital Andy's phone rang...

The kind lady on the other end informed us that we should "roll back over and go to sleep. There's no room in the inn today." Apparently, there are lots of people having babies at the moment and all the rooms/nurses were taken. She said the doctor's office would call to reschedule the induction once they saw how many people were checking out today. Well, check out was by 11:00 and I didn't hear anything from the office so I just called the office and they didn't seem to know I'd been cancelled so...I'm supposed to call back around 3...we'll see how that works out and I'll post again once we know something. For now we're off to Cracker Barrel to enjoy some sausage gravy biscuits! Yum!

Really cool pictures

One of Andy's friends does photography on the side and offered to take a couple of belly shots for us...we went by yesterday for ~10 minutes and this is what he did. AWESOME! Thanks, Jonathan!

Public Opinion

So...since I haven't figured out how to do an "official" open-ended survey yet, just respond with a comment...

When do you think the baby is going to be born?

Is Hammy a boy or a girl?

What do you think the weight and length will be?

Will Hammy have hair? If so, what color?

What is Hammy's real name? (I can hardly wait to find out myself!)

What will Lincoln and Ike have to say about the newest addition to the pack?
